Raffle / Free Draw Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 19/08/2026

These Terms and Conditions govern entry into the SCHR UK Raffle operated by Second Chance Horse Rescue UK Merchandise (“we”, “us”, “our” or the “Promoter”).

By entering the draw, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

1. The Promoter

The Promoter is:

name: Second Chance Horse Rescue
Trading name: Second Chance Horse Rescue UK Merchandise
Email: secondchancehorserescueuk@gmail.com
Website: https://www.secondchancehorserescueukmerchandise.co.uk/

2. Nature of the Draw

This promotion is intended to operate as a free draw and not as a lottery.

There are two methods of entry:

  1. a paid online entry; and

  2. a free postal entry.

The outcome of the draw is determined by chance.

The Promoter does not require a gambling licence for this free draw provided that the draw is operated in accordance with the applicable requirements of the Gambling Act 2005.

The free postal route is available on the same basis as the paid route and entries made through either route will be treated equally in the prize allocation process.

3. Eligibility

The draw is open to residents of Great Britain aged 18 years or over

The Promoter may require proof of age and identity before awarding a prize.

The Promoter reserves the right to refuse an entry where it reasonably believes that the entrant does not meet the eligibility requirements.

4. Paid Entry

Paid entries cost £2.00 per entry.

Paid entries must be made through the official website using the entry method provided on the raffle page.

The price of an entry does not guarantee that an entrant will win a prize.

There is no requirement to purchase merchandise in order to enter the draw.

5. Free Postal Entry

A free postal entry route is available.

To enter free of charge, the entrant must send a postcard or letter by ordinary First Class or Second Class post to:

4 starling way, Fleet, Hampshire, GU51 5DQ

The postcard or letter must clearly state:

  • the entrant's full name;

  • full postal address;

  • telephone number and/or email address;

  • the name of the draw being entered; and

  • confirmation that the entrant wishes to enter the draw.

Only one entry will be accepted per properly completed postcard or letter.

Postal entries must be received before the closing date and time specified in these Terms and Conditions.

No purchase is necessary to enter by post.

Entrants are responsible for the cost of their own postage.

The Promoter will not accept responsibility for postal entries that are lost, delayed, damaged or incorrectly addressed.

Important: The free postal entry route is an alternative method of entry and will be treated equally with paid entries when the winner is selected.

6. Closing Date

The closing date for entries is:

30th September 2026 5pm

Entries received after the closing date will not be included in the draw.

The Promoter will not extend the closing date unless there is a genuine operational, technical or legal reason to do so. If the closing date is changed, the change will be communicated clearly to entrants.

7. Number of Entries

A maximum of 4000 eligible entries in total will be accepted across both paid and free entry methods

If an entry limit applies, the same limit will apply to entries regardless of whether they are made through the paid or free route.

8. The Prizes

The approximate retail value of the prizes is:

£10-£100

The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless the Promoter expressly states otherwise.

If the advertised prize becomes unavailable for reasons outside the Promoter's reasonable control, the Promoter may substitute it with a prize of equal or greater value.

The Promoter will not substitute a prize simply to disadvantage an entrant or reduce the advertised value of the prize.

9. Winner Selection

The winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries, including eligible paid and free postal entries.

The method used to select the winner will be:

Every valid entry will be assigned a unique sequential entry number. All eligible paid and free postal entries will be included in one master entry list. The winning entry number will be selected using a random number generator.

The selection system will not distinguish between paid entries and free postal entries.

The draw will take place on:

30th September 2026

at:

8pm

10. Winner Notification

The winner will be contacted using the contact details supplied with their entry.

The Promoter will make reasonable attempts to contact the winner.

The winner may be required to provide reasonable evidence of:

  • their identity;

  • their age;

  • their address; and

  • their eligibility to enter.

If the winner cannot be contacted within 10 days, does not provide the requested information within a reasonable period, or is found to be ineligible, the Promoter may select an alternative winner using the same random selection process.

11. Publication of the Winner

The Promoter may publish the winner's surname and county, or other limited information reasonably necessary to demonstrate that a valid award took place.

The winner may object to the publication of this information where there are legitimate reasons to do so.

Where required by law or by a relevant regulatory authority, the Promoter may disclose additional information concerning the winner and the draw.

12. Entry Requirements

Entries must be genuine and submitted by the person named on the entry.

The Promoter may reject entries that:

  • are incomplete;

  • contain inaccurate information;

  • are submitted after the closing date;

  • appear to have been submitted fraudulently;

  • breach these Terms and Conditions; or

  • are otherwise invalid.

The Promoter will not deliberately exclude a valid free postal entry merely because it was made through the free route.

13. Equal Treatment of Entries

Paid and free entries will be entered into the same draw.

The prize allocation process will not give preference to paid entries over free entries.

The Promoter will maintain records sufficient to identify eligible entries and conduct the draw fairly.

14. Cancellation or Changes

The Promoter will not cancel or materially alter the draw simply because the number of entries is lower than expected.

If circumstances outside the Promoter's reasonable control make it genuinely necessary to suspend, cancel or amend the draw, the Promoter will provide reasonable notice and will take reasonable steps to ensure entrants are treated fairly.

No change will be made for the purpose of unfairly disadvantaging entrants or avoiding the award of an advertised prize.

15. Fraud and Abuse

The Promoter reserves the right to investigate suspected fraudulent, dishonest or abusive activity.

Where there is reasonable evidence that an entry has been obtained fraudulently or in breach of these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter may invalidate that entry.

The Promoter will act reasonably and proportionately when exercising this right.

16. Personal Data

Personal information supplied when entering the draw will be used for the purposes of administering the draw, contacting entrants where necessary, verifying eligibility and awarding the prize.

Personal data will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy: The Promoter will not use entrant information for unrelated marketing purposes unless the entrant has separately provided the appropriate consent or the Promoter has another lawful basis for doing so.

17. Responsibility and Liability

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects an entrant's statutory rights.

The Promoter will take reasonable care when administering the draw but cannot accept responsibility for postal entries that are lost or delayed after they have been posted.

18. Consumer Rights

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to remove or restrict any legal rights that an entrant has under applicable UK consumer law.

These Terms and Conditions are intended to be fair and transparent and will be interpreted consistently with applicable consumer protection legislation.

19. Complaints

If you have a question or complaint concerning the draw, please contact:

Email: secondchancehorserescueuk@gmail.com

Please include the name of the draw and sufficient information for us to identify the issue.

We will consider complaints fairly and respond within a reasonable period.

By entering the draw, entrants confirm that they have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions.

If there is an inconsistency between promotional wording and these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter will take reasonable steps to resolve the inconsistency fairly and in accordance with applicable
